Who is Tonya Deniz

“Hitch your wagon to a star.”
 - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Together with a genuine concern about empowering people, Tonya Deniz brings a wealth of life-long experiences and expertise to her coaching practice. She comes to coaching from a successful career in senior management and behavioral research, working for consulting firms and international marketing/communications conglomerates in Chicago, New York and Boston.

A “Working Mother of the Year” recipient, Tonya has worked with clients from many Fortune 500 companies; and, throughout her career, she has built and mentored organizational teams both in the US and abroad.
Tonya was drawn to coaching because in many ways it’s an extension of who she is naturally and what she’s always done both in her professional and personal life. Coaching draws on her innate abilities to listen intently, to be instinctively curious and to ask insightful questions that act as a catalyst for problem solving. This coupled with her many accomplishments, including overcoming her own physical limitations, and her genuine concern about people makes her the optimal coach.
Tonya is a member of the International Coach Federation (ICF) and she is CTI (Coaches Training Institute) trained. CTI is the largest coach training school in the world and the only program to teach the world-renowned, Co-Active® Coaching model. CTI is also among few coaching institutions to be accredited by the ICF.
Tonya has a proven track record of facilitating breakthroughs with clients. Her clients move from being stuck to producing results and they are transforming their ways of being to create the life they want to live.
In addition to coaching, Tonya is a life-long volunteer. She ran a community-based, ESL adult training program; and, most recently she organized and led a successful support group, focusing on the emotional affects of the recession on job seekers.  Tonya has three adult children and lives in Chicago, IL. In addition to gardening, reading and music, Tonya enjoys spending time with family, friends and her rescue dog, Chloe.
